The mounties liked our vantage point, we could see most of the main meadow and almost all the way up to lower bus village. It surely made me feel secure having them there! You never know when some crazed maniac is going to chase you around the meadow with a machete! Or you might get mugged by a street gang! One LEO told me he was there because "Illegal activities are going on, and we're here to stop them!" I think the guy with more than one bullet proof vest doesn't really understand where he is. We needed to go get the rest of the dome from bus village, and Robbie had offered the use of one of the rickshaws so we could get it in one trip. At the parking lot, after I had loaded the dome pieces and started down the trail, a kind brother from New Zealand came up and handed me his dij so he could pull the load for me. I probably could have made it, but the help was really appreciated. When he got to our camp he played a bit on his dij for me to record. It's at Rainbow Recordings from 2003 with the other recordings I made this year. |
For me, one of the high points of a gathering is the AGR circle. This year it was to be at two on the second at Instant Soup, 2 on 2. I got there on time for once : ) There never was much of a circle, but lots of visiting and a few pictures. Someone called for a group shot, and while everyone stood around I got three shots, one without myself, and two with the timer. That mess above is a collage of all three. |
This one is the best of the lot, without somebody's (you know who you are!) leg in front of the lens. That's me on the left, the rest could be anybody! As the AGR folks started wandering away, someone came up to the fire and asked if anyone minded if she played her violin. She took it out and started with an Irish lilt, and soon was joined by Rich in Spirit on his guitar, then within minutes there were three guitars, two violins, a recorder. I pulled out my mini disc and a microphone, and got lots of nice music from bluegrass to cajun. The mp3s of that session are at Rainbow Recordings from 2003. |
Nice banners on the trail by Instant Soup. As I walked on down the trail I came to barter square where some drumming was going on. |
I'd have to guess that these guys weren't interested in trout eggs. I don't know much about trout, but some of these looked pretty big to be just hatched, but not big enough to be breeding. Nice rainbow on their side, best visible in the second picture. |
The map was going up next to Info, so I stopped long enough to locate my camp and see what was around that I hadn't discovered yet. |
This big money poster has lots of interesting links to follow on the internet. Very interesting. |
By the time I got back to my camp the mounties had moved on down the meadow, visiting with folks along the way. |
Gotta love those Krishna Kookies! Another day comes to an end. Only one more day before the 4th., and that'll go fast with the workshop. |
